The Bicycle Collective is pleased to announce that Sam Warrick has joined the Salt Lake City team as our Operations Manager.
Sam discovered his passion for bikes as a teenager, when he began touring on a cheap bike. When he went to college, his love of bikes expanded into a passion for using bikes to change the world; making the air cleaner, making populations healthier, improving communities, and empowering people.
Sam comes to the Bicycle Collective with nearly five years experience working for Aggie Blue Bikes, USU’s bicycle education and advocacy program. At ABB, he completed three Americorps terms of service, rebuilding and repairing bikes, and teaching bicycle mechanics to hundreds of students. Two years after graduating, Sam returned to ABB as shop manager, where he transformed the position from a lead mechanic role to one focused on improving operational efficiency and customer service, expanding and improving income sources, and ensuring the program was inclusive, inviting, and unbiased. As shop manager, he overhauled ABB’s retail sales, created and implemented an improved training curriculum, oversaw a shop remodel that doubled the number of workstations available to students and to program mechanics and volunteers, and worked to improve the program across the board. Sam is excited to join the SLC Bicycle Collective and use his skills to help make an incredible program even better.
When he’s not on a bike, Sam enjoys gardening, bird watching, skiing, traveling, and making delicious things to eat.
