For Inauguration Day, This Strava Artist Took His Message to the Streets

The hashtag #ThanksObama has been trending on Twitter as Barack Obama ended his presidential term and passed over the reins to Donald Trump today. And for Virginia-based cyclist Chris Jones, there was the perfect way to say thank you: with Strava art.

For those unfamiliar with the term, "Strava art" comes from planning out a route that—when uploaded to the site—shows a map that forms a shape, or words. Adorable stories of Strava-based proposals have happened in the past, but this is the first politically-themed one that we’ve spotted.

Appropriately, the 12-mile ride was done in downtown Washington, DC, on Obama’s last full day in office this Thursday. You can check out Chris Jones' profile for yourself here.
