New faces join Bicycle Network NT Advisory Group

Bicycle Network NT has taken the next step in engaging with the local community and working towards improving conditions for __bike riders by introducing some new faces to the Bicycle Network NT Advisory Group.

The Bicycle Network NT Advisory Group is a committee of local experts and professionals with wide experience in road user policy and community development. The group gives guidance on Bicycle Network NT’s policy and support engagement with __bike riders and the community.

The current members are Clive Pesavento, Robin Knox, Noeleen Becket and Fiona Ray. New members who joined the Bicycle Network NT Advisory Group to provide regular assistance are:

Andy Warton
Andy joined the Australian Federal Police (AFP) in 1995 as a community police officer and investigator in Australia and has also served in several overseas senior leadership positions with the AFP in Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. He recently retired as the Chief Officer of the Northern Territory Emergency Service.

In his time he has gained has gained a high level of experience in strategic management and executive leadership, high level government and media relations and the management of large and diverse workforces encompassing human resources, conflict management and command and control leadership.

He also once circumnavigated Samoa in a kayak.

Emma Host
Emma is a passionate person who is dedicated to getting more women cycling in any format and is very well connected to Aboriginal communities in the NT. She is a driven leader with extensive experience in stakeholder engagement, staff management, business growth and development, project management, and strategic planning across both the private and not for profit sectors. 

Byron Henderson
Byron is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the Automobile Association of the Northern Territory (AANT) and also has 18 years experience in the banking, insurance, financial services and automotive sectors. He has also been involved in succesful cultural change programs and has top level knowledge of marketing and digital and social media.

Russell Martyn
Russell is the head of Fundraising and Development for the Heart Foundation. Able to build great enthusiasm in people, Rusty has his fingertips on a huge network of volunteers. 

Tom Harris
Tom is the Chief Executive Officer of the Extractive Industry Association and also the owner of a major Darwin CBD retail space with around 15 tenants. Tom is passionate about getting more people into the CBD and Smith Street area on foot and on bikes. 

Each new member of the panel will bring a new energy to the existing group and help Bicycle Network NT connect with the community. Each are well linked in key areas and will provide great guidance for Grant and our organisation.

Megan McKenzie
An education specialist, Megan currently holds a Senior Management position at the Department of Education.

Sueanne Johns
Sueanne is Executive Manager Community Services at Community Corrections

Natalie Bell
Natalie is a Marketing, Events & PR Manager at Associated Advertising & Promotions and is also a lecturer at Charles Darwin University.
