Bicycle Collective

A Boy Scout with an exceptionally touching story decided to do his Eagle project on our behalf, getting over 530 bikes donated in ONE DAY! We've got a huge warehouse to temporarily store them in, but the clock is ticking, we've gotta be out by May 1st.

Extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures. We need your help tuning up these bikes, and would love to see you down in the shop and reaching out to your friends and communities to do it.

Here's how you can help:

1. Come and tune bikes during the day.
M-F 9:00-5:00 is still the best time to wrench on our bikes in the Salt Lake location, because open shop isn't going on. Send down your bike nut friends who work in the service industry! Your students! Your kids! No experience necessary, but experienced mechanics are welcome, too! Just call 801-FAT-BIKE (328-2345) to schedule a daytime volunteering session.

2.Come tune up bikes with us on Monday nights
Monday night is volunteer night, and though it's pretty busy, a skilled helping hand never goes unappreciated. Come down and wrench with us if a bench is open, or hang out with volunteers to help them learn quickly and churn through kids bikes.

3. PUT THE WORD OUT!
Let everyone know that we need volunteer help! College friends you haven't seen in awhile! Your wife and kids! Wrenches in every hand! This is crazy, but I think we can do it! Encourage any and all comers to volunteer during the day, or on Monday nights.

Thank You! Every bike we give away makes our community a better place to ride, it's going to be a great year on two wheels.
